One of the typical plants edelweiss found in Bromo National Park Tengger Semeru (TNBTS) where is one of the region preservation of nature are in region, administrative district Pasuruan, Malang - Lumajang – Probolinggo. On TNBTS, the edelweiss’s status is protected. Edelweis have ecological benefits whose value is difficult to measure with money. The flowers are a source of food for certain insects. There are ± 300 species of insects that come from the order Hemiptera, Thysanoptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera and Hymenoptera, which is found on the edelweiss flower.

Edelweis also can become a nesting place for birds Myophonus glaucinus. Bark slits and contains a lot of water, so it can be a place to live for some types of moss and lichen, such Cladinia calycantha and others. Similarly, the roots which appeared on the ground, is a particular form mycorrhizal fungi live. The boletus received oxygen and a place to live, while edelweiss gets nutrients from fungi. That is why edelweis can live in soil nutrient poor.

In the Studi Kerusakan Edelweis (Anaphalis javanica) Akibat Kegiatan Pendakian Pada Jalur Pendakian Resmi Gunung Semeru – TNBTS[1], Yohanes Ama Kayowuan presents a “edelweiss plant flowering (blooming), in June to September so at the time of the retrieval edelweiss flower increases. Result making interest by climbers, then the chances of edelweiss to breed getting smaller, because the flowers is developing tools edelweis breeding. Intake edelweiss flower continues constantly in their natural habitat can threaten its sustainability. Percentage breakdown edelweis along hiking trails Mount Semeru most official The highest of 100 percent are at a point 62 with a height of 2,708 meters of sea level and percentage damage to a low of three point nine percent are at a point 61 with a height of 2,719 meters of sea level..

From that, we know that this plant is a endemic plant to the zone alpina/Montana. Let’s from now, convince the Indonesian government to build The national parks are cultivated Edelweiss not just in TNBTS,  to act “Mouth to mouth 'Edelweiss'” which this action is action plan to share information how the existence of Edelweiss, not to take or pick up the edelweiss from their natural habitat or with making of imitation flowers Edelweiss, granting signpost 'Keep Edelweiss Here' in the area of habitat mountain climbing Edelweiss, make or do research to breed Edelweiss, then join in Green Edelweiss Foundation (GEF) which is a Foundation that is engaged and care about the environment for the survival of earth.
