Just imagine the tamarind itself can make our saliva flowing in the mouth. The acid taste from tamarind usually use as food ingredients. But this time we are not talking about cooking tips using tamarind, instead tips for reduce fever using tamarind.

Plant with scientific name Tamarindus indica is part of Leguminosae. Tropic climate is the suitable condition to support the growth of tamarind. This plant origin is from Africa then distribute to Asia until Latin America.

Tamarind fruit contain carbohydrate, protein, fiber, fat, acid tartrate, malic acid, and oxalic acid. Behind the acid flavor, the fruit we called tamarind is useful to lower fever. Tips for lowering fever using tamarind can be seen below:

Brewing

Tamarind fruit can be brewed with mineral water to lowering fever. First prepare around 30 grams of tamarind fruit in a glass. Second mix it with mineral water and stir well, you can use hot water to speed up dissolution process. Finish, your nice tamarind drink is ready to serve. If you can’t find tamarind fruit you can buy tamarind pasta in store, usually it sell as food ingredients.

Compress

People often compress their body when they got fever. But do you ever use tamarind to compress your body? Tamarind suggested to use in pasta form. Mix tamarind pasta with little water to make them wet, then put it to the towel or cotton cloth. Compress the cloth to your forehead or armpit to the patients with fever for 10-20 minutes. Don’t forget to give a drink to the patient to help lowering body heat.
