Meranti Kuning

Shorea peltata Sym

Subcanopy or canopy hardly buttressed tree, to 40 m tall, 30 cm diameter. Bark smooth or shallowly nobbly. Twigs terete, smooth, c 2 mm diameter apically. Leaf buds ovoid-acute. Leaves deeply peltate.

Ecology : in mixed lowland dipterocarp forest on leached clay soil.

The IUCN red list of threatened species : Critically endangered
