






Biodiversity become the most discussed topic in scientific forum, conservation up to agriculture. But is there any term that simpler than biodiversity term? The term biodiversity is begin to recognized in 1985. The first term used was biological diversity and it shortened become biodiversity.
There is a simple sentence that clearly explain about biodiversity. Biodiversity is a living variation I the earth, starting from the smallest part variation until the biggest ecosystem. There are three level which differ biodiversity, gen, species and ecosystem level. Those levels are not absolute, some researcher divide into a fewer or more level.
Gen Level of Diversity
Biodiversity, in fact, has begun in gen level. Gen is composed by DNA that will decide the characteristic and physical appearance of a living creature. The allele, gen until chromosome different can affect many things. For example, the differences of color, form, metabolism up to character.
Species Level of Diversity
Species Level of Biodiversity is the level which often to learn compared with two other levels. Learning species level of biodiversity is relatively easier compare with the two other levels. However, actually each level need and important to be learned. Every species take a different role and function in ecosystem. It’s mean that if one species extinct then it will affect all ecosystem. The conservation effort will take place on species level of biodiversity.
Ecosystem Level of Diversity
Ecosystem level of biodiversity will learn about the interaction among all component in nature, begin from inter species, inter group until between the living creature and environment. Ecosystem level of Biodiversity is the most complex level to be learned, considering all mater in the nature will affect each other. One of the difficulties that will be faced in learning ecosystem biodiversity is the way we differ, because sometime the edge to differ other ecosystem is still not clearly define.
