Through photography, Gusti actively campaigns for the conservation of native Indonesian animals and plants. His wild life photography has graced Exposure Magazine, Wildlife Photography National Jamboree in West Bali National Park, Campaign Series Poster #Urbanwildlife, and Wildlife Wildlife Photo Exhibition at Endangered Soekarno Hatta Airport Terminal 3.

Gusti also wrote 8 books on biodiversity in several places such as in Punggualas Sebangau National Park, Central Kalimantan and in Jakarta. Some of the titles of his book include the Biota Life Variety, the Jakarta Search Reveals the Potential of Biodiversity in the Capital, the Insect Fly Punggu Alas Sebangau National Park, Punggu Alas Sebangau National Park and the Wildlife of Jakarta ".

Gusti received an award from USAID BIJAK for his contribution in introducing and increasing public awareness of protected species and from the National University, and for his work in the field of conservation.
