The Community Service Division of the Indonesian Food Care Student Association (HMPPI) with support from the KEHATI Foundation conducted local food project activities. Local food project is an activity to reintroduce and add to the economic value of local food, also invites Indonesian people to consume and love Indonesian local food. HMPPI has members from various universities throughout Indonesia, one of the members is the Agricultural Product Technology-Faculty of Agricultural Technology (THP-FTP) Universitas Brawijaya (THP-FTP UB).

THP-FTP UB conducts village development activities and celebrates several food day activities. Village development activities are a means of service for the application of knowledge from THP-FTP UB. This activity has been carried out for years in the village of Bajul Mati, Malang Regency. "Starting from seeing the potential of local bananas that have not been utilized properly, that is temple bananas, then we together with the village residents process these bananas into banana chips with various flavors, such as chocolate, original and salty. Temple bananas that are still not too ripe are processed by thinly sliced ​​like chips and then fried and drained for seasoning. After it is cooked, the chips are then packed, "Azizah explained, the process of making chips by the mothers of Bajul Mati Village. Until now, the chips have been marketed in several shops in Malang. This activity succeeded in increasing the income of mothers in Bajul Mati Village, Malang Regency.

Another activity carried out by THP-FTP UB is cassava day commemoration. This activity aims to educate the public about the existence of cassava days, information related to cassava and consuming processed cassava products. Education begins in the campus environment to students, security guards, and other campus staff. The activity starts from morning until noon, by distributing cassava day posters, discussing related to cassava days, giving cassava day stickers, and providing traditional processed cassava snacks. The traditional snacks are lemet and jemblem / misro. Many are still not aware of cassava days. Even so, the response of the people involved was quite enthusiastic about the question and answer process that occurred.
